As a musician in a previous life and now a visual artist married to a composer, I've come to love how exhilarating and enriching it can be to delve into deep discussions about our creative processes with people from other backgrounds. Creative Nexus is our way of extending this joy to you.
Creative Nexus is an online community for creators to come together to explore the thoughts (connections we make, ponderings, etc), exploration (process, freedom to be wrong and make bad art, etc), and troubles (provide support, brainstorm alternatives, encourage) of the creative process. It is a place of anti-small talk where creatives can connect over their passions instead of talking about the weather. This community will enhance and expand the creative process through the exchange of ideas and exposure to new points of view and approaches, and provide support through the struggles.

In Creative Nexus, we're all about discussing the nitty-gritty details of your creative journey—the questions you ponder, the ideas you explore, and the hurdles you face.
Guest interviews & AMAs
Every month, tune into a session with a guest artist who will share their own process, tips, and wisdom with the community.
Where is it?
You don't have to learn any new apps. You'll get emails with a calendar of events each week, and you can opt in to any event reminders you want! They'll come straight to your inbox, Zoom event link and all.
Group brainstorming
Twice per month, we have Deconstruct Sessions, where we break into small groups of no more than five people to dissect our creative ideas, objectives, and challenges.
Book Club
Every quarter, we come together to discuss a book that focuses on creativity, to inspire and challenge us.

Why should I join?

Body doubling
Also twice a month, we have Coworking Sessions that are dedicated to the “unfun” tasks—updating websites, filling out grant applications, and anything else you’ve been putting off.
Interdisciplinary Residency
Once a year, partner with a creator from another discipline to produce a unique piece or series, culminating in a virtual exhibition. Learn more.
When does it happen?
Our Deconstruct Sessions and Coworking Sessions happen on the first and third Thursdays and Saturdays every month. Thursday meetings are at 2pm and Saturday meetings are at 12pm.
